Memories from the past

Our life is divided into many phases. The most important is the learning phase. During this time we are dedicated to learning and nothing else. Our parents expect us to learn more than what they did. This is the time when we gather friends which we often find in different places throughout the journey of life. So this phase is more important to me. I have more experience of this phase and I haven’t tasted the other phases.

This learning phase is further divided into Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary, higher Secondary, Graduation and Post Graduation. This is the system in India. Pre-primary I was too young and I can’t remember anything about that stage. Well there is one thing I do. My mother with a stick in her hand. I am crying… I don’t wanna go to school….Due to this whenever I see a picture of Goddess Durga, I picturize my mother. The stick being her sword.

Then comes the Primary. I was too much shy during this time. I hardly remember my friends and rare to meet the ones I know. I remember my class teacher giving me a paper with a speech written on it. I was told to memorize it and read it in front of all the students of the primary. That is during the assembly hour. I was so nervous that I forgot my speech. My teacher who was besides me relieved me, encouraged me. She told me to read the speech from the paper. My voice was hardly audible. She continued to give me written speeches and my voice was oud enough to be heard. By the end of my Primary school I was very confident in giving speeches. Read the rest of this entry »

What do you think about change?

Change is coming.. All eyes are on America and the new US President Barack Obama. All TV channels broadcasting almost anything about Obama. Few hours back I saw a news channel broadcasting about “What Obama will have to give up?”. That includes things like cycling in public places, his hobby for swimming, His love for beaches, his blackberry and so on.. After watching that telecast I said to myself that I am not sure about the change that Obama will bring, But the change has already entered his life.

Focused by media as the “First Black President”, he is looked upon as a person who will bring change everywhere. Till date not a single President brought change it seems. The fact that he is black is the change. I am not sure that whole US has accepted him as President or was in favor of him. He got 52 percent of the votes. What about the 48 percent? That’s a close finish.

Why I am pointing towards this is because those 48 percent were not in favor of color change. I wrote a post just before election with title Black and White. It doesn’t seem to have worked. When you want change then majority should be in favor of it. This majority should be noticeable. The same situation persists in India where Congress rules in spite of bad governance. Change is always talked upon and never implemented.

I hope this is not the case with Obama. I don’t expect him to bring changes that will change the course of whole world within course of days. What I expect is slow, steady change and positive change. Looking at his support, I am pretty sure that he will be re-elected again after four years. Everyone is against war and that was prime reason for hate for Bush. There are problems which have to be solved by war and war is the lone solution. Then take this as the last option. Don’t hesitate. Take hard decisions that will surely benefit although you may have to face opposition.

Wishing him the best….

Let the change, change everything…

He is back.. He is badder…

For the last seven years he was hiding somewhere. In an unknown place to regain his strength and take control. He is successful in his attempt. The silence for the last seven years breaks. I was never expecting him to come at this time and at this stage of my life. Unable to decide what to do to get rid of him, I am just hoping that he leaves me soon.  I am talking about my temper, my anger. He is back.

It took a lot of effort to control my anger. But as you know anger is one emotion which is often uncontrollable. You never know what he can do with you. This was my case seven years back. I was short tempered and there were many who used to fear of me and my temper. No one knew when the dormant volcano would erupt. This was till I was introduced to a beautiful subject called Psychology. While learning this subject I learned many things about human behavior and how to control emotions. My temper turned into my patience which helped me a lot throughout these years. The days are over it seems.

It happened two days back. To be frank my temper showed signs of arriving during my last job when I burst on a labor. After that this event. My father made a policy on my name. The insurance agent tricked him for a policy which was almost out of our reach for yearly payment. My father made it clear that it should be one time payment only before making the policy. After making the policy the documents arrived in 15 days. I read the documents and shocked to see it was yearly payment and told him to convert this to one time only. There was another policy on my sisters name also. So he took the documents assuring that he will convert the policy. Read the rest of this entry »

Recovery Sunday

Just over a week since I joined my new job and I am having troubles. Not in my job, but other than job but they affect my job. The biggest of them is my energy level. It seems to be going down once again. Three months ago, I started 10 minutes exercise on daily basis and it helped a lot to gain stamina. But as you know with the exercise routine. You just need a small reason to stop your exercise routine.

That small reason was that I was out of job. No more stamina needed to sit at home. So I stopped and it’s been 20 days now. After a week of job I realized I need to start it again. This job is like working in hell(I was there for a while and will be spending my afterlife there) . I hardly have time to sit. They have a office space for me with a working fan. That is a luxury when you are working on site. But I don’t have time to use this at full.

This  Sunday is acting like recovery day for me. I was too much tired out of the weeks work. There is some work going on site today also. I won’t be there on site.  If I work today then,  I won’t be able to give my best for the next week. A day off is much needed. When I woke up in the morning it was 10 am already. I am feeling good and relaxed today. This burnout happens with almost all working group. It was regular for me until three months back when I was doing exercise routine.

Looks like I have to start it again. Getting up early in morning is a pain, especially when it’s winter. I have to do it. A nice habit I got from working on this site is making a checklist of things. I’ll have to do the same for my exercise. Just 10 minutes in morning and then 10 minutes in evening make things much better. Good thing that I can have my lunch at home since the site I am working is near. That adds to healthy food, healthy diet. I’ll have to plan a better diet now. I’ll be going through all my bookmarks for the diet blogs. If you have good diet tips then feel free to comment. Just remember I am 100% vegetarian.
