Reading – An exercise for your brain

Reading is an exercise. It’s like a work out for your brain. We are humans and we give much value to what we look like. So we exercise to get some muscle, six packs, eight packs and all that stuff. In the process we forget the thing which drives whole body. You know it, but you don’t give a damn. I don’t want to look like a geek or someone call me bookish.

Right from our childhood, we hate books. They are big turn offs. when you are out of the studies, you realize the importance of books. You wish you read at least you syllabus books. Now when you want to read you don’t have time. This is the situation with many. You get time to watch a porno, go to a club or just sleep. But no time for the books.

Exactly opposite to this, there are peoples who read a lot of books. That is good. In fact great. They are called Readers. Often they develop a taste of books. Here comes the bad thing. They try to impose their taste on you. You’ll fall for this as you think he is a good reader and has good knowledge about books. It’s not necessary that you’ll like what he likes. You may get frustrated by the book  and won’t read ever again.

So what can you do in such a situation? It’s better that “YOU” do not to develop of taste.  Read anything and just anything you get. Slowly it’ll become a habit and you’ll love reading. I did that. I always want people to read. Even if I know a book is bad, I stay away from making a comment. At the same time whatever others say, If I want to read a book I read it.

This exercise called reading not only trains your brain but increases your knowledge. This gives you a chance to show off at times.

Language of an old woman

I have already written some posts regarding language. But this is a vast subject which is sufficient to give you topic everyday. If you know more than one language, which most of you do, then you have a potential to write about language. I am good at four languages and about five of them i am in learning stages. So I have good material to write about though I choose not to write often. That would convert this blog into “The Language Blog”. After some days I’ll get some eggs and tomatoes at me.

This incidence happened yesterday while I was talking to my friend. Yeah the same friend who own a pharmacy. I talked to him after so many days due to my busy schedule. (I hate to use this “busy” word.) I was standing there and doing the thing I liked the most. Observing peoples. I do it unconsciously now as it has turned out to be my habit. After a few minutes an old woman entered the pharmacy. This is the woman whom I helped to get to the clinic. (Are you listening Santa?? I deserve a gift here.)

She gave her prescription and started talking. A bit surprised, she couldn’t talk properly. The last time I met her she was talking good. This time she wasn’t able to pronounce properly. Every word she uttered was incomplete and used to end abruptly. Try to speak without using your tongue. Something similar happened. What amused me that we were still able to get what she wanted to say.

This mystery will stay with me for long. How can we just interpret when we are unable to get the whole word? Of course it was not 100% correct interpretation but close to that. Its the beauty of a small part inside our head, that we call brain. A while back I read an e-mail where the words had the first and last letter in correct position and rest all altered. I was still able to read the paragraph without any mistake or without much effort. I hope to solve this mystery in this lifetime.

Request to all search engines: Don’t mark this post as spam due to the use of the word pharmacy. There are pharmacies which exists offline.

Till I solve the mystery…

When everyone is genius

God created us. Us the human beings. It took years for our brain to develop. Some 10000+ years. I am not good at history. So find it yourself. He created all of us as unique personalities. We are unique. You don’t believe? It’s up to you. I know i am unique. He gave different physic and different brain. Some are born intelligent and some become later.

Hey!! I read that so many times in papers, social science class, by priests and so on… Why are you repeating this stuff? Sorry for that. I was reading some interesting stuff and couldn’t think of anything better to start my post with. If you have got some time to waste and have patience in reading long articles then read this. I got that while digging.

Why do we think??

Thinking

Ever wondered about this? Ever got a question like  this? Probably never. But I get this question when I am idle. I am still trying to find the best answer to this question. When you are idle, it is the time when you get so many question and it happens that you don’t have answers to them. You are desperate to find the answers. There are some silly questions also which you don’t put forward as you are afraid of being called an idiot or may be a retard.

So what do you do then? My bad habit of being restless till I find the answer still exists. So I start looking for the probable answer. One of the first answers is that our brain loves to think. So it cannot stop the process of thinking. You can say that the love is Romeo and Juliet kind of love. There is no certain topic or certain area of thinking. It is random and happens unknowingly most of the time.

The second answer is rather scientific. There was this doctor named Dr. No who did a research on this topic and finally he died of thinking too much about “Why do we think??Before dying he wrote the results in a diary. It took months and lots of efforts by the handwriting experts to understand and recreate the results. It said that there becomes some chemical imbalance in our brain which evokes the neurons creating impulses which picks up random words we know and generates a random sentence. This sentence then becomes thought. It was quiet clear that Dr. No was deeply researching and had lost his mind. Continue reading →
