Raining in May

It rained today. Unlike the showers in the Feb-March, this looks to be pre monsoon showers. It was really getting hot here. I was dying due to heat. It was really difficult to get out and feel the sun. But this shower for added a cooling sensation. It rained for about half an hour and now it has stopped. But it certainly brought the temperature down.

This is normal period or time for monsoon showers. They usually come during this time only. I hope these are pre monsoon showers. Somehow I have a strange fear that rains will behave very unexpectedly  this year. It did same last year. Rains were unexpected last year. They used to disappear for some days and all collective rain quota for those days used to shower on one day. This created flood situations.

I’ll have to rush to my uncles farm for some forest fruits of summer. Else when rain starts those fruits disappear. I’ve planned to go on Saturday. Lets hope rains don’t interrupt and I’ve some fun there.

Ubuntu 8.04

As I told you guys about 17th May being an offline day for me. I had free time and so i tried somethings. I wanted to make sure that the connection problem is not because of me or the hardware. So I decided to check the connection on Linux. Just few days ago I had downloaded Ubuntu 8.04 CD. I thought of giving it a try.

Ubuntu

I popped in the CD into the drive and booted using that drive. The CD is Live CD. You can try Linux without installing it on your Hard disk. So to be on safer side I chose that option. It took some time to load the OS. There was lot of spinning sound from the drive. The spinning sound was just freaking. It used to be loud a moment and quiet the next moment.

Telecom Day Gift

I don’t know how many of you knew this. But yesterday, 17th May, is supposed to be world telecom day. And do you know what gift I got?? My net connection was down for whole day. And it started working just a few minutes ago. Maybe  my ISP wanted to show their importance.

I usually post very early in the morning. That way the post published can be read by users in offices. Many of us just login to some daily blogs and news before starting the work. So for me its better to have my post published before the working time. One of the tricks I’m using to increase the readers to my blog. Not sure how far this works. But my guess that it works.

I waked up and turned on PC. Opened the browser and nothing is working. I thought it may be down for sometime. But no. I waited for an hour and it still didn’t work. I thought may be its an OS problem or a router problem. Somehow I came to know they were ok. So it was ISP that was having the problem. I tried to contact some of my friends who have connection with same ISP. But I couldn’t reach them. Then today morning called my friend who owns a cybercafe. And he told me that it’s not working since 8pm on 16th. Must be some major problem.

Whenever I’m offline I’ve great time. I watched some movies and was able to concentrate more on my .NET project. Things always happen for good. May be I should thank my ISP for that gift. It turned out to be a good one.

Think Nonsense…

5000 Hits

I’m Just stunned with the response to my nonsense. 10 days ago the counter was at 4200 and now it crosses 5000. And lucky me the 5000th hit was by me. It’s not a great achievement for many. But it is for me. The response to my earlier blog here was poor. But after learning things i started to blog again. And the success. This time the credit goes to Linkreferral. 800 Hits in just 10 days. Now I’m looking forward to such traffic building sites to get more hits. So far the rating to my blog is 4.93/5. Pretty good after 48 reviews. Almost no negative comments makes feel proud. Now have to live upto the expectations and improvise more. Thanks all the visitors for the response.
