Building Traffic

For the last two months I have trying to build up traffic to this blog. I made changes to increase traffic. Registering to Entrecard was a boon to my traffic. But I was and am always aware that the traffic is not targeted. They are users who come and go just to fulfill some requirement. There is a small percentage of that traffic which is really interested in blogging. Such visitors are difficult to get but once you get they stick to you.

Of course you need to write good to keep them attached to your blog. This month I want to totally depend on my 280+ posts to get traffic to my blog. I want to see how many users really get to my blog without having to force them. I want to quit entrecard as it suxx xD now due to some changes in it’s policies. They believe it will prove to be good. But every now and then they are hitting a nail in coffin. Just have to wait when will be the final nail in coffin?? I cannot quit entrecard instantly as my 20000+ec are hanging there. I am playing “Hangman” there now. :bandit:

I’ll be totally idle and out of blogging world you can say. I want to give more attention to content and content writing. Eventhough it’s nonsense, you should be able to understand that it is nonsense. Theme for four days a week has created some good reputation. I saw one blog copying my idea of “Tuesday Readings”. :whistle: There will be more coming like that. I don’t mind them.

To all the visitors and readers who are reading my blog and read this blog till this line, please be patient for some days. If you have a blog I’ll be replying to you soon. I am gone nowhere. Just a small hibernation. I’ll be writing but not promoting. Consulting and studying better ways to write blog. If you have tips for this dumb guy then you are always welcomed. :kiss:

P.S.: I removed all ads and all advertising. Not much earnings for last two months. I should have done that before.

10000 Hits

Four days back I saw this movie. The name of the movie was 10000 B.C. The movie was ok and I had good time. But in order to make “Happy Endings” the story lost it’s charm. Would have been an ideal end for the movie. Though you always have “Happy Endings” if you take it in different perspective. (Hmmmm. I’ve started to use heavy words. Just to make the post heavy. Don’t mind them). This post is not about this movie. But about my blog.

Yesterday I achieved the first milestone. I got 10000 hits to my blog. No cheating nothing. I don’t have to tell that because it’s been six month for those hits. Anywhere else it would have been much more till now. It doesn’t make a difference to me. I’m really happy to achieve this. Just a psychological win that will make me dip deeper.

I had announced a contest on entrecard for the person who hits 9999. I knew that would happen today. Here is the screenshot of the person who was the winner. He commented as chato and is a good cartoonists I suppose.

The day before yesterday I was about to upgrade my blog. But my uncle came to stay at our house. I was happy but had to sleep early and shutdown PC. So was unable to upgrade. Today when I was ready to upgrade, there was some problem with server router. My site was inaccessible in some parts. So the upgrade is still in queue.

After this much hits, I’m ready to make some changes to my blog. They’ll be as and when I get lots of free time. Thanks to all the readers all around the world for reading nonsense and helping to achieve this.

Entrecard Reviewed

And at last I am writing my review on entrecard. When I started using entrecard I wrote some posts regarding this site. I don’t think those who’ll be reading my blog will be unaware of entrecard. I’ll still give links to my earlier posts about entrecard.

Things changed after that. I tried entrecard for a week. I got some serious traffic and good number of pageviews. But in the end it was not at all good traffic. As I expected earlier, the traffic was temporary. Things like “u drop I follow” will just give traffic to your blog. Not the readers. And I am always looking for readers. I don’t expect comments also. I know they’ll come automatically if you read.

So after a surge of traffic with the help of both entrecard and linkrefferal, I stopped. I stopped for a week. I didn’t comment anywhere nor did I replied to the comments posted on my posts. Just remained silent and did nothing, other than trying to solve domain problems. This was to check if I’m really getting readers or it’s temporary.

The results were expected. The average number of visitors dropped. And hence the pageviews. But still happy that I got those readers in spite of doing nothing. Now that I have got a domain I need to do better. So I’ll be active everywhere. At least I’ll try to. I’ll keep entrecard widget. It’s not because of the traffic, but the readers it gave. While looking at statistics I found that there is some increase in readers. Those who bookmarked my site. This number is very less compared to traffic. But good for me. In the end entrecard is good for those who have adsense on their blogs. They’ll get good revenue. But it’s not for those without adsense.

I wrote in a comment in the second link above that I’ll not post about traffic for 10 days. Now it’s more than that. ^_^ I’ll keep updating about my blogging progress.

Yesterday my blog got the highest visits and highest number of page views. 150 visitors and 400+ page views. It was overwhelming for me. I couldn’t believe the numbers ЁЯШо my counter displayed. It was all because someone stumbled upon my blog post. Though the traffic was temporary, meaning I don’t expect those users to visit again, It was pleasing. They are the ones who just came here by accident. I’m looking for regular readers. The nonsense lovers.

In the mean time the entrecard thing works. That is the first impression of the site. But I’ll not make any conclusion till 15 days at least. I believe this traffic is also hit and run. The good thing about entrecard is, I get to read new blog. I keep dropping the cards and suddenly a story strikes my eyes. I wait, I read, I comment. Currently I’ve no subscriptions for any blog. But I’ll soon start them.

I’m coming across some really good blogs. Many of them found a place in my bookmarks. For last few months I’ve collected large number of sites. The del.icio.us page is increasing day by day. Currently the bookmarks touched 450 :woot: mark. That’s quiet a big number according to me. I don’t have to worry about browser crashing and loosing bookmarks.

Thanks to all my readers for reading nonsense. If you don’t like my blog, I’ll still continue writing. :p Now that I’ve entrecard, I need to earn some good amount of credits. I’ll probably never advertise on entrecard blogs. It’s not my type of advertising. But for those who like to be on my blog, you have to wait. If I like your blog and it’s worth reading, then it’ll surely find a place in that 125×125 space. Keep in mind I’m not here to make money at this moment.

Edit: Just forgot about the number of hits. It’s about to touch 8000.┬а :love: 1000 hits in 5 day span. :angel:

5000 Hits

I’m Just stunned with the response to my nonsense. 10 days ago the counter was at 4200 and now it crosses 5000. And lucky me the 5000th hit was by me. It’s not a great achievement for many. But it is for me. The response to my earlier blog here was poor. But after learning things i started to blog again. And the success. This time the credit goes to Linkreferral. 800 Hits in just 10 days. Now I’m looking forward to such traffic building sites to get more hits. So far the rating to my blog is 4.93/5. Pretty good after 48 reviews. Almost no negative comments makes feel proud. Now have to live upto the expectations and improvise more. Thanks all the visitors for the response.
