Making Sense Out of Nonsense

What is sense? and What is Nonsense? Webster dictionary gives the best definitions for these two words(often used by your employer as if they have copyright for these words) so I am not giving out the definition. For me it’s what other than me like is sense and what other than me don’t like is nonsense. But these other than me probably don’t know they live in a world full of nonsense. Just to give an example.

These other than me and I live in India. A great place to live where we are surrounded by nonsense. We have so called largest democracy in the world. The other than me say that I don’t make sense. Yeah. I am very much inclined towards nonsense. But look at what these other than me do.

  • They have sports minister who find it difficult to walk
  • They have a Prime minister labeled of many degrees but cannot take his own decision and is like a puppet in someone’s hand
  • They have health minister who is admitted to medical college only to cure some disease
  • They have criminals standing for election and these other than me elect them
  • They have light in cities and metros by putting the major part of India which lives in villages into darkness
  • They have food stock piled in ports and warehouse’s left for rotting when the prices for same commodities skyrocket
  • They have…… The list will go on and by now you too think that I don’t make sense

I am not trying to prove I make sense and other than me don’t. I am just trying to figure out sense from the nonsense. Let me tell you what is nonsense for other than me.

  • An Ox giving liters of milk
  • A dumb person taking part in singing competition
  • A bald person keeping a comb in his pocket
  • A sheep behaving like a dog
  • A donkey(how can I forget this animal) taking part in horse race

Isn’t it? Those are the lines which don’t make sense to other than me. And the list before this doesn’t make sense for me. Who wins here? Of course other than me!!! Majority always wins.

Till other than me find sense in nonsense…
I’ll Think Nonsense…

Confused, confused and more confused

Confused. By this time you have read this word four times already. That much is the confusion I have. I was confused whether to start with just confused or confused with three question marks. I am confused again and I think I am putting you in a confusion also. I can’t help it. I am confused a lot.

This is my condition for last three days. A simple conversation between me and one of my acquaintance that happened at an annual meeting. Usually such conversation never affect me but it’s strange that this time it’s not the same. It struck me like a sharp edge of a blade. Now that gives pain.

Topic started with what I do? He wasn’t aware of my qualification. He jumped just because he was working under my friend who was my batch mate. That friend is a government servant. So do this acquaintance. In India, and I suppose anywhere around the world, if you have government job then you have a special value. An engineer like me is like a gem. It’s a different thing that I am still in the coal form.

He started to tell me about my friends success. How much he earns and all that stuff. I don’t care about that as it’s not much importance to me. And he kept talking about how an engineer as a government servant earns. After a peak point I got distracted. Is money all the thing?? Isn’t there value for anything else?? I earn a lot less than what my batch mates earn. And the relation Money=Success applies everywhere. So I felt I haven’t tasted success yet. That feeling gave me pain. Now I am getting confused. What next to do? Should I go after money or just continue my journey as is.

This success is not just important for me, but for my parents. They want me to be successful and like all other parents success for them is directly proportional to the amount of money you earn. Till date I never thought of working as government servant. It just suxxx. But now I may have to rethink.

Thinking while confused..

And still confused…

Is this suppose to be “The End”??

Finally after 59 hours of trouble the fight between terrorists and policemens come to an end. For the last two days Mumbai was experiencing what is supposed to be the biggest terrorist attack on India. A very well planned and executed attack that certainly has created an environment full of fear. The whole city was and is still under the shadow of fear.

It hurts me in the way this was handled. As usual the politicians made similar statements what they say after the blasts or terrorist attacks. It is foolish of media to surround them every time such an incidence occurs and in return they get the similar replies. I cannot forget our “Home Minister” who is busy in protecting his home. No actions are taken to prevent such incidences. He is a busy person. He has to also look after his party and breaking up members of opposition. Continue reading →

Like the old bull

When cattle are crossing, if the old bull swerves, they all go swerving following the lead. So among men, if he who’s reckoned best lies not right, much more do other folk. If the ruler be unrighteous, the whole land dwells in woe.

That is exactly what is our government. The leaders are like bulls. They have powers and they go mad. They hit, they run, they kill. Under the fear of those we vote them again and bring them back to rulers. The cycle continues. Since the leaders are mad, we also go mad. We also do bullish thing and it includes bullshit. We don’t think and we don’t have anything to think for. Just follow the thing that leaders does.

No one want’s to break the cycle. Someone has to control the bull, There is no cowboy here. The species is rare. Cowboys can handle all types of bulls. Once a single bull, a single old bull, is in control then the ones surrounding it come in control without any effort. It was good to see in current US election that there is a big change. Now that cowboy should control the bulls.

Situation is getting worse in many countries. Some have started slaughtering the bulls. That is not a good choice, but you have to go through that phase once they are out of your hands. I can only hope for more cowboys to come front. Can I be one???

Cricket – A Religion???

What is Cricket??

You have two sides one out in the field and one in.
Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
When they are all out the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When both sides have been in and out including the not outs,

Thats the end of the game.

I hope you understood what cricket is. Now to the topic title. Is Cricket a religion?? In India they say,

If Cricket is religion, Sachin*** is God.

Certainly here peoples are crazy about Cricket. They Eat Cricket, Sleep Cricket, Think Cricket, Talk Cricket. Whenever there is India’s match you’ll find Government offices empty. Or near a TV or transistor. Crowd gathered on street outside TV shops. As an Indian this dangerous disease once affected me. But thanks to 2003 World Cup Final. It’s perfectly cured and I’m fit now. But for Cricket fan’s I should be admitted to Mental Hospital. (I still wonder why I’m not there). But the problem with that disease is that its infectious. So in order to stay away from infection, I sometime watch matches which are on Sundays. So far so good.

You see. I just got away from the topic. But reading all the above thing, It is a Religion. Its a religion which unites whole India together. This religion is very powerful. You hit this sweet spot, cleverly of course, Then name and fame are your’s. Everything has its Pro’s and Con’s. Cricket is no exception.
I don’t want you to feel bored. Will continue this Nonsense some other day.

*** = If you don’t know who is Sachin, Welcome to planet Earth.
