The First White Hair

Two years back, while I was trying to comb my hair I found the first white hair. At first I thought it’s just a reflection of light from behind. But some days later my sis pointed some white hairs back of my head. I was like… Oh $#@t!!! I am getting older. It was the same time when I just started blogging. I don’t know why I didn’t blog about this.

First white hair is sort of turning point in your life. Often we relate it to experience. Your experience is directly proportional to the amount of white hairs on your head(What about the ones who are bald??). That’s why they say “These white hairs have seen a lot more things than you have.” Try to imagine a character artist saying this line. Becomes more effective. I have been involved in many conversations where this sentence struck.

The sad part of this story is that white hairs are on the verge of extinct. Hair dyes or Hair colors have changed this era. If you find someone with colored hair than he got white hairs(Most probably. I use these two words to save my life). A couple of months back my cousin brother colored his hair with white color. Not all but just the front part. I asked him why?? He said, “Everyone’s is coloring with brown, orange, pink and white is getting extinct. This is to save the whites and to get a different look among others.” True said. The only person with white hair I remember is Mr. Amitabh Bacchan with his white beard. Even the mothers in TV serials now don’t have white hairs. It’s difficult to differentiate who is mother and who is wife if you watch the serial for the first time.

I find it easy to bond and have conversation with white haired persons than youngsters of my age group. Maybe it’s because we are like haired, as in “like skinned” or “like religion”. Kind of Birds of the same feather flock together. They got a lot of experience and I have a big appetite for life experiences. I listen when they talk. Though on the verge of extinction, these white hairs can be found in places called old age homes. I am glad that at least someone is saving the white hairs.

Till you find your first white hair…

The Culprit Apple

Long long back  there were no human beings but their parents were the only ones present. At that time they were clothless as there was no one to hide from. There was no love and existence of rose was unknown. But there was a fruit that changed everything. We know that fruit by a name Apple.

What would have been if there was no apple? There wouldn’t be this conflict between “good” and “bad”. They too would never exist. There wouldn’t be a movie named The Good The Bad and The ugly. There wouldn’t be superheroes fighting against bad. In fact fight won’t exist. A perfect peaceful world which we dream of. This apple ruined everything.

But it was this apple because of which the parents of human beings, Adam and Eve, got into the “act of love making”. It is because of this apple that you and I exist. It is because of this apple we got ourselves clothes to cover up. Albeit we are now going backwards as we are shedding our clothes. Especially the species that is like of  Eve.

It is this red color fruit which thrusted us towards evolution. From an animal which would walk and run on four legs, we turned ourselves into two legged and two hand monsters. Oops…. Human beings. We keep ourselves reminding of the mistake done by our great great great………….. parents by symbolizing red as the color of danger. Remember the traffic rule you broke by moving ahead while there was red light. You got fine or may be a boot or may be a pink slip. Beware of red because it’s the color of apple.

We got one famous saying..

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. Doctor is someone who quickly empties our bank account and we cannot do anything there.. At least somewhere apple helps. No offense mac users.

Till next evolution…

What do you think about change?

Change is coming.. All eyes are on America and the new US President Barack Obama. All TV channels broadcasting almost anything about Obama. Few hours back I saw a news channel broadcasting about “What Obama will have to give up?”. That includes things like cycling in public places, his hobby for swimming, His love for beaches, his blackberry and so on.. After watching that telecast I said to myself that I am not sure about the change that Obama will bring, But the change has already entered his life.

Focused by media as the “First Black President”, he is looked upon as a person who will bring change everywhere. Till date not a single President brought change it seems. The fact that he is black is the change. I am not sure that whole US has accepted him as President or was in favor of him. He got 52 percent of the votes. What about the 48 percent? That’s a close finish.

Why I am pointing towards this is because those 48 percent were not in favor of color change. I wrote a post just before election with title Black and White. It doesn’t seem to have worked. When you want change then majority should be in favor of it. This majority should be noticeable. The same situation persists in India where Congress rules in spite of bad governance. Change is always talked upon and never implemented.

I hope this is not the case with Obama. I don’t expect him to bring changes that will change the course of whole world within course of days. What I expect is slow, steady change and positive change. Looking at his support, I am pretty sure that he will be re-elected again after four years. Everyone is against war and that was prime reason for hate for Bush. There are problems which have to be solved by war and war is the lone solution. Then take this as the last option. Don’t hesitate. Take hard decisions that will surely benefit although you may have to face opposition.

Wishing him the best….

Let the change, change everything…

When silence talks through sound of music

As the month of November nears, Goa gears up for International film festival. IFFI started on 22nd and will go on till 2nd of December. In spite of being a movie buff I went for the film festival only once. That too without watching a single film. But it’s a great environment out there during the IFFI. Even if you don’t watch movie you’ll still enjoy.

The father of Indian cinema is Dadasaheb Falke. He created fantastic films one after another and gave birth to Indian cinema. That was in 1913. At that time most of the films, well all of the films were silent movies. Expressing through silence seems difficult and it is difficult. But you can express it better than words.

One of his film “Kaliya Mardan” was screened on Sunday. I was not there as usual. I never knew about the screening. Different thing about this screening was that there was live music score in the background of the film. This made the film to come live without any editing or any mixing. I wish I was there. I shouldn’t have missed such an opportunity.

There have been experiments with some old Black and White movies which were turned to Color with surround sound. But they didn’t succeed much unlike this live performance which was appreciated by many. Now if only there was another screening due to lot’s of hype……So that I can go and watch this fantastic mixture.
