Achievement Of The Year

It was lunch time today and I was just finished with my lunch. Generally, that leaves half an hour of time at least until I get back to my work. I use that time to continue reading my book on my Tablet. I think that is the best use of my time. But sometimes, I don’t feel like reading my book. Today was one such day and I thought of scrolling through my Twitter timeline which surprisingly is throwing less crap on my face everyday.

While scrolling through the timeline I found one tweet which was just casual. It didn’t have much responses at the time of viewing. But it struck me. Some tweep had asked a simple question. “What have you achieved in this year 2017 ? Have you made any difference?” The words may have been different but the subject is the same. I stopped scrolling and the tweet froze on my screen.

I did a rewind of this year. Starting from the month of October. No results found.
Then September. No results found.
Then August. No results found.
This continued till January. Not a single result to display. A feeling of disappointment took over. I did nothing substantial this year. I haven’t made a difference.

The feeling of disappointment has turned into the feeling of failure. What could I have possibly done so as to avoid this feeling? The bogey of thoughts started circumventing this feeling until a call for site inspection derailed it. I don’t know whether that call saved my day or not. I don’t know. I don’t know.

Is it necessary to achieve something every year? Do I have to make a difference every year? I have to find answers. I HAVE TO.

Age is NOT just a number

No. Age is not just a number.

It’s what you have achieved and what you have failed to achieve.

It’s people you love and those who hate you.

It’s what you love and what you hate.

It’s you being stubborn and it’s you being compromising.

It’s letting new people into your life and losing some.

It’s everything.

It’s everything compressed into two digits. Sometimes three..

So NO. Age is NOT just a number.

Rest In Peace

You protected me from thorns
You protected me from nails
You protected me from water
You protected me from stony path

You gave me confidence to walk anywhere
You gave me confidence to climb sloping path
You gave me confidence to kick anyone
You gave me confidence to run without slipping

Now your time is up
Thanks for everything you gave me
Your journey ends here
Our relation ends here

But I will not forget you
You’ll be always my favorite
Thanks for the one and half year journey with me
May your “sole” rest in peace

Thanks for everything…
Thanks for everything my lovely pair of shoes…

One year of nonsense

Finally…The moment I have been waiting for the whole month. It’s 1st February 2009. One year of my blog. I am really happy to come all this way. Before I write anything else, I would like to thank to al the readers and commentators who helped this blog grow. Not much, But this blog has 550+ comments spread throughout in 410+ posts. Not bad for a nonsense blog.

Since this is “One year post”, I’ll repeat all the good things said about my blog. Frankly, I’ll repeat this any number of times, I never thought readers will like the nonsense I write. I just thought of giving a try. Something that no one else have done. I am not as successful as many other professional bloggers, But more than what I thought. It’s hard to know what peoples like. Look.. They liked nonsense.

On the first day of this year, I wrote a post about my goals for this blog. I have not kept them high as I was sure I’ll have less and lesser time for this blog this year. The effect is already noticeable. Last month being my lowest blog post count for the past 12 months. Though there were some other reasons as well. I am now totally focusing on my time management. Otherwise things will get worse. It’s hard to announce that I’ll blog alternate days from next month onwards. Not this month as this “One year month”.

Back to topic. Throughout this year, I learned a lot of things. I learned how to make your blog public. Get a good exposure. If my blog was a niche blog then with all the publicity, I would have generated a lot of traffic. Earlier I had to post comments, use traffic exchange and similar blah blah to get traffic to my blog. But now search engines generate most of it along with bookmarks and subscriptions. Recently I started giving full feed to readers.

What next?? The domain for this blog is now six months old. Now I bought two more domains and I am working on them. I want to start them as soon as possible, but not incomplete. So it may take some days. They will be up anytime during this month. Secondly, I am working on completing all the goals I kept for the year. This is not possible with your support. If you have a good blog, Help me spreading nonsense. I will do the same for you.

Thanks to all readers one more time for the support…

Think Nonsense…

Great start for new year

New year started well for me. On the first day itself my blog went down. It was offline for two days. I was already frustrated with my previous webhost so I decided to look for a new one. Now the blog runs on paid hosting and I don’t expect downtime here. But the start with this hosting was also not good. I went through a lot of trouble to import my blog database here. This is usually an easy task for me but it took almost 5 hours to get through.

I get instant support but the problem is he doesn’t understand the problem easily, even if I put everything in detail. That is minus point. I hope not to get any troubles from this hosting. I’ll have to monitor this for a month at least to check the uptime and errors. There is no room for such things now.

Meanwhile, I joined my sixth job  I lost my last job 15 days back. Thanks to economic crisis. This job looks good like (the earlier one) . I’ll be seating on frying pan here. The toughest job of my life is here and I am ready for it. There are many new things I’ll be learning. I never did a job like this so have little knowledge. Results will be in the form of mistakes which are not allowed in any profession.

Fingers crossed till six month job. If I can survive this span then I can survive the whole year. Trying to grasp things quickly. Problem is that I don’t have much time to study drawings on site. That is a big hurdle and I have to overcome it. Well…. very quickly…

BTW… Anyone missed me for two days??
