So Easy Difficulties

Yesterday I received an e-mail from a friend. Actually I read that thing sometime back. It was really nice to recall that stuff. That e-mail is about a conversation between an interviewer and a boy.

Interviewer: You have two options. I can ask you one difficult question or ten easy questions. Think well and make a choice.

Boy thinks for a while and says
“I choose one difficult question.”

Interviewer: Great. Best of luck. Here comes the question. What comes first, Day or Night?

That was a difficult question. But realizing that his admission depends on this he answers
“It’s the Day Sir”

Interviewer: How?
Boy: You said only one difficult question.

Guess what!!! He got selected.

It totally depends on us to take the easy way or the tough way. As from the above example, tough options may turn out to be easy to deal with. Taking a risk will never take you to bottom. Instead you’ll learn to deal with such difficulties. While doing so, don’t let the easy things slip out of you. Or one day you realize while taking on difficult ways that you are missing the easy ways.

Difficulties are not difficulties if they don’t take the best of of you.

Till the difficulties take you interview…

Backup Weekend

It’s been almost a month since I backed up my data. So I thought of doing this today. Was busy the whole day creating backups. Whenever I do backup I make sure that they are easy to find later on. Due to this fact, I have to go on renaming files with a particular file naming format I created for my backups. That makes it easy to read.

Just for example, when I create a backup of movies (Yes the DVDrips of course) I have this format for the file name.

MovieName.YearOfRelease.avi

Now I know how old the movie is just by reading the file name. I make sure along with the movie file goes the subtitle file also. Though I watch all movies without subtitles, there are some points where I don’t understand words spoken. Subtitles come handy here. They are also useful for a foreign language movie.

While renaming I keep in mind that the file names don’t have space in them. Spaces are no trouble now. Gone are the days of DOS. Still I replace them by a dot. I find long file names unnecessary. I try to keep them as short as possible. This keeps the index data small though it’s size is already negligible.

The use of above tips is when you have your crashed but have safe data. Almost all data recovery software’s use a DOS based interface which spoils the file names. These tricks help you to keep them to a certain extent. I used to take backups every week. That habit is gone and I want to revive it.

Then I use a software to catalog the files. This way I don’t have to search the CD’s and DVD’s by manually checking them. Just after burning, I catalog it. I use WhereIsIt for this. Also the CD or DVD is named with a marker pen with same name as I save it in catalog. I search through the program. I check the results and I get the name of CD or DVD where my required data is stored. Spending just a little bit of more time makes thing easier.

Many things still to be backed up including the blog database. See ya later..

World without Civil Engineer

It’s difficult world without engineers. And especially Civil engineer. The above is an example. I’m a civil engineer by profession. So I loved the above picture. I got this set of images which explained what life would have without engineers. The engineers included were Computer, Telecom, Mechanical and some others. I tend to forget things that are irrelevant to me.

It’s not because I’m an engineer but if I wasn’t I would have sticked to the same thing. These hard working people make our life easy. Through construction we have almost captured the sea barrier also. Don’t believe then check the Palm islands in Dubai. We don’t know the importance till the day we are in their position.

What if the clothes were not fabricated?? How about wearing leaves?? I am pure vegetarian. So don’t expect me to kill animal and wear skins.

Truth – The Last Part

Truth always wins in the end. But then there is no time left for celebration. That’s because it’s the end. And you cannot make the end to start again. This happens in Films though. Where after “The End” in the next show the film starts again. But that’s not the case with life. it ends when “The End” comes.

Imagine an innocent person. Innocent as a small child who is completely unaware of this world. But this innocent person is at least aware of it. So Just Imagine… Somehow he charged against a crime and gets punished for it. He gets jailed. he still believes in truth and wants to fight against it. It is very difficult to fight against lie and injustice from jail.

But then he manages to do that also. He fights… And fights… And fights harder. The law process as we all know is very slow. So he wins and 20 years are gone there. As I said the truth won as usual in the end. But what’s left for that person?? How will he live the rest of the life after loosing 20 years for nothing.

Lets say he wins after 2 years. Due to all the controversies around him that person will hardly have any social status. Although he is innocent but the so called society does not want to accept a criminal who actually is no criminal at all. So even if it’s 2 years the result remains the same.

Now what if the truth wins at start?? In the first hearing or the second. The things change. No one looks at him as criminal and he can live a normal life. But that will happen if we all choose the path of truth. If there is all truth around and very little lie then truth will always win from start.
