Its been a decade

Ten years ago, on this very same day, I bought this domain for my blog. The joy of typing www.thinknonsense.com in the address bar which then lead to my blog was overwhelming. At that time, I never thought I would stick to this domain for ten years. But then I did.

It’s not at all relevant to me that hardly anyone visits my blog. There are like 10 visitors a day and sometimes a spike is caused by the crawlers and bots. These stats, which was one of the reasons for which I bought domain, doesn’t matter to me anymore. What matters is that I have web presence which is unique in nature.

I would very much thank to Bizhat, my webhost, especially to a guy named Santosh who used to handle the backend. He helped me in setting up this domain. The new staff they have recruited is also helpful. I hope they continue giving free webspace and continue hosting my website while doing so.

Above all, thank you reader. Whoever you are, Wherever you are, thank you so much for visiting me.

Till we meet next time..
Think Nonsense…

1461 Days Back..

It was one of those days when I was just staring at the computer screen. I had nothing to do. Totally jobless. Broadband had arrived just three months back. Most of my browsing was done during night hours due to the bandwidth cap. I clicked a random link out of the boredom. It was a warez blog with a great design. The bottom of the blog read ‘Powered by WordPress’. Clicking on the link introduced me to the world of blogging.

Now I wanted a blog. I wanted to blog. Why not? Everyone had a blog. There were blogs written by dogs and cats, supposedly. I already had the nonsense idea in my mind. The question was where to host? One of the perks of being a moderator or web hosting forum, you get free web-space. Thanks to the admin who set it up for me. I got everything I wanted to start a blog.

Four years ago, The very day I published my first post on the blog. I didn’t care about the language. Not about the content and not about who will read it. I just wanted to write. After a while, It got popular. I was overwhelmed by the appreciation. I even earned from blogging.

Over the years, The frequency of posts dried up. I didn’t even try to allocate time to blogging. And when I tried to write something, I was blank. That screen was punching me and I was taking blows standing.. Sorry. Sitting, Like a boxer out of practice. But today I decided to face it. This post is a result of that.

When I started this blog, I wanted one and I wanted to blog. Now I want to blog more. I want to write more. Lets see how much punching I can handle.

Till my next blog post.. duck a punch and
Think Nonsense..

Bizhat Free web hosting

To start with I’ll first review my current webhost. So far this is the best web hosting I came across. When you register for this you get,

* 50 MB Web Space
* 5 GB Monthly Transfers
* FTP Access for Uploading
* Server-Side Includes (SSI)
* IE Based File Manager
* No Ads, No Banners, No Pop-Ups
* Hosted Message Board, Hit Counter
* Sub Domain Name (YOU.BizHat.com)

There is no PHP and MySQL support by default. If you contribute in Bizhat forums you get upgrades for free. The more you post, the more you get upgrades. The speeds are too good. This applies to uploading files also.

But there are some cons too. The FTP works in safe mode. So you cannot move or rename the files. You have to be careful with naming when you upload. Secondly, you must post 5 good posts in the forum to activate the webhosting. Although this is easy, many dont like this part.

Other than this I didn’t find any issues. Get your free space here

You can also use other services like blog hosting,image hosting and phpBB forum hosting for free.
