Some Rest

May

Today is Holiday. 1st May is Workers Day and so the workers should get some rest. Isn’t it?? It’s on this day I come to know that I’m a worker. Otherwise I feel that I’m still a student hungry for knowledge. Now a days the workload is too much and I don’t have time to breathe. It’s amazing how I live without breathing.

The same type of work with no twists and turns makes me boring. The twists and turns are only from the Boss side. Almost like in any office I too get fired for no reason. Sometimes this makes me think that “Am I paid to digest this sort of firing?” the answer comes as No always. But the problem remains as is.

So today is the day I’ll be having break from this. For one day ofcourse. You must be saying there is one more day known as Sunday. But there is no charm of a paid holiday in that. It’s like my right and the holidays like today are my bonus. Haven’t planned for the day. But I’ll be looking into my old dumped .net project which I’ve not touched due to this job.

Would be good if something different happens and I have a great time today.

Cricket Again

Last time I talked about this and left the topic incomplete. And I don’t assure you to complete it this time. The last time I talked I said Cricket as a religion in India. And if it’s religion then Sachin is GOD. I thought of writing about cricket due to ongoing DLF cricket league. This is certainly heating up cricket fans.

This league started on 18th April. And I’m writing about this today. Almost 10 days later. Reason?? There is no reason for that. Just because I like to do things late and I’m a lazy person. You should call yourself lucky that you are reading this 10 days late. It could have been after the tournament. Let it be. Back to the topic.

The very hyped tournament made a good start and is gathering good crowd. It is also creating lot of controversies also. But these are necessary to get the limelight and selling of tickets. Cricket is going through a change that I don’t admire. The format of the games is 20-20. And there is no cricket involved here. It’s just murder of cricket. I see half-nude cheer girls, cheering after every wicket or boundary. I never expected such thing in India and in Cricket.

I cannot call 20-20 as cricket format. In this format there is nothing to play. Just get to the pitch and play with horizontal bat with as much power you can. That’s simple. I was amazed to see centuries being scored in 20 overs. And the balls taken for centuries were around 50 balls. There have been 200+ scores in 20 overs. There is rain or say tsunami of fours and sixes. This is certainly not cricket.

Why I’m talking about cricket when I don’t watch it much or don’t like it much. i don’t like cricket, But as a sports lover I love all sports. And don’t like things which removes the charm and the class of the sport. This murder of cricket will continue till 1st June. I watched 2-3 matches in my free time. Though eye soothing it was not worth watching.

Will continue writing about this..

New Theme

I was working on this theme for last few days. I had very little time for my blog. I just come, write some nonsense and then my online activity. Editing and customizing the theme was a boring task. So I always looked for a reason to skip it. But today I got enough time to edit and apply the theme.

Earlier I applied this theme 9 days back. Yeah on my Birthday. :) But somehow it didn’t work. It didn’t display the unicode characters correctly. As you can see I write in 3 languages here. So there’ is a lot of importance of these unicode characters. I don’t like Mozilla based browsers as they don’t display the page properly. They skip something or add some junk. Internet Explorer is always reliable in rendering the page.

So the page used to display properly in Internet Explorer but not in Flock. Flock is a new browser which I’ve been using for a while now due to it’s neat features. Though I don’t rely on it as much as Internet Explorer. Let’s keep this browser talk aside. I was trying for a solution on how the characters will display correctly in Flock. I’m a beginner in PHP and HTML. But I can code and have enough knowledge to edit.

But this problem was headache. After lot of efforts I slowed down on this theme and started searching for an alternative. Today when I decided for a new them, I gave a last try on this. And it turned  out to be a CSS problem. Just few lines of editing in CSS file and the theme worked as I wanted. I made a few changes to the original theme and now its running well. Also Updated the Wordpress. My love for this blog is increasing day by day.

Hope you like what I write here.

The Garbage Within

Posted by: User ImageGuttuin Nonsense

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport .
We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car
jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi
driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other
car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his
head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just
smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really
friendly.

So I asked, “Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined
your car and sent us to the hospital!” This is when my taxi
driver taught me what I now call, “The Law of the Garbage
Truck.”

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They
run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of
anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up,
they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on
you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them
well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to
other people at work, at home or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage
trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the
morning with regrets, so….. “Love the people who treat you
right.. Pray for the ones who don’t.”

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how
you take it!

These days I’m getting good dose of such stories in my inbox. So I just thought that I’ll put them here and write my point of view. I completely agree with what the driver said and did. But it’s very difficult to apply in real life. It’s difficult but not impossible. A sincere try always works. I’m a cool headed person most of the time. So I already do this. But not all the time. And I’m trying..
