So why I am talking about plugins today? This is not a blogging blog or WordPress hack blog. For many days I was searching for a good plugin. A plugin that can list my watched movies on a page and it should be easy to update, edit, rate. But I am a movie buff and watch a lot of movies. I am too lazy to write review of a every movie I watch. This is Nonsense blog and not a movie review blog. Hence I wanted a plugin where I can write a short review, a link to movie page, ratings out of ten and possibly comments by user. I didn’t get the last option though.

While doing a search I found a plugin that fulfills my needs. That plugin is WP Movie Ratings. I have just installed the plugin and testing it. That is why I am not giving out the link for the movies page. I also have to update that page with some movies. This plugin will free me from posting reviews of movie unless I find it too good or too bad to watch.

I don’t like to use many plugins with any software. They slow down the performance of core software. I couldn’t resist this one. I crossed the ten plugin mark with this plugin. Now I use a total of eleven plugins. It’s difficult to remove any one of these. How many plugins do you use??

Just for example, when I create a backup of movies (Yes the DVDrips of course) I have this format for the file name.

MovieName.YearOfRelease.avi

Now I know how old the movie is just by reading the file name. I make sure along with the movie file goes the subtitle file also. Though I watch all movies without subtitles, there are some points where I don’t understand words spoken. Subtitles come handy here. They are also useful for a foreign language movie.

While renaming I keep in mind that the file names don’t have space in them. Spaces are no trouble now. Gone are the days of DOS. Still I replace them by a dot. I find long file names unnecessary. I try to keep them as short as possible. This keeps the index data small though it’s size is already negligible.

The use of above tips is when you have your crashed but have safe data. Almost all data recovery software’s use a DOS based interface which spoils the file names. These tricks help you to keep them to a certain extent. I used to take backups every week. That habit is gone and I want to revive it.

Then I use a software to catalog the files. This way I don’t have to search the CD’s and DVD’s by manually checking them. Just after burning, I catalog it. I use WhereIsIt for this. Also the CD or DVD is named with a marker pen with same name as I save it in catalog. I search through the program. I check the results and I get the name of CD or DVD where my required data is stored. Spending just a little bit of more time makes thing easier.

Of course you need to write good to keep them attached to your blog. This month I want to totally depend on my 280+ posts to get traffic to my blog. I want to see how many users really get to my blog without having to force them. I want to quit entrecard as it suxx now due to some changes in it’s policies. They believe it will prove to be good. But every now and then they are hitting a nail in coffin. Just have to wait when will be the final nail in coffin?? I cannot quit entrecard instantly as my 20000+ec are hanging there. I am playing “Hangman” there now.

I’ll be totally idle and out of blogging world you can say. I want to give more attention to content and content writing. Eventhough it’s nonsense, you should be able to understand that it is nonsense. Theme for four days a week has created some good reputation. I saw one blog copying my idea of “Tuesday Readings”. There will be more coming like that. I don’t mind them.

To all the visitors and readers who are reading my blog and read this blog till this line, please be patient for some days. If you have a blog I’ll be replying to you soon. I am gone nowhere. Just a small hibernation. I’ll be writing but not promoting. Consulting and studying better ways to write blog. If you have tips for this dumb guy then you are always welcomed.

P.S.: I removed all ads and all advertising. Not much earnings for last two months. I should have done that before.

To keep up with demand and supply curve , now the energy is collected from sun via solar cells. These solar cells are there for quiet a long time. Due to high cost in manufacturing and then as a product very few were buying these. Most of the times they are used by laboratories or by the peoples who can afford those. But the new breakthroughs will change the current situation and may increase the penetration of solar cells.

The first breakthrough is by a Canadian base company who is successful in creating a solar cell which will reduce the cost by 25%. It will also increase the efficiency of solar cells up to 19%. Currently the efficiency of solar cells is about 15%. The new Generation II technology will also speed up the manufacturing process reducing the production costs by 25%. The current Generation I cells have an efficiency of 14.7%.

Another breakthrough is by an Australian PhD student who is successful in creating solar cell out of everyday used items such as inkjet printers, nail polish and pizza ovens. He calls this technology as iJET which is really helpful to developing countries. This technology uses the current low-cost inkjet printing process to create the cell. The beauty of the iJet is that it can be made at room temperature and without high-tech environments or components.

I will surely buy solar cells if their cost reduces to an extent where I can afford them. This energy is renewable and comes free. There will be also less or no hard to our environment.

So far you have a certain shape of mobile set in your mind. Mobile phone means it will have a screen and on backside a cover with battery to change. There will be buttons from 0-9 and some extra. Some mobile may have music related buttons. A port to connect to PC or laptop and a charger. Isn’t it? Now change your mind. Here comes a phone which will shatter the traditional image of mobile phones. Here is Nokia 888.

There is no certain shape for this phone. It takes form as you change it. It is kind of a creature in fairy tales or something like genie. Since it changes anyhow you want it has to be light. This phone is mainly targeted towards the younger generation. But I’ll love to buy this as it will not interfere me. It will change according to my needs. As a wristband or a roller or fold it in half to act as a flap phone. Possibilities still to discover.

To achieve this shape some other special technologies are used. The battery used is a liquid battery rather than normal rectangular shaped. It has flexible touch screen for easy navigation. Touch sensitive cover which helps to adapt itself to the environment. The most amazing thing is the E-motions. These E-motions are electric motions. Phone changes itself when it receives certain types of E-motion. That’s cool.

What’s next?? Cannot predict now. But this phone certainly looks like a revolutionary change. The durability of Nokia phones is not questionable. I personally use two Nokia phones and they fell many times from my hands and they still work perfectly right. So I can expect the same from this phone. May be I’ll think of buying it.

Everybody is talking about iPhone. What’s so special about this gadget? What is making this different from others? I am not suppose to be reviewing this gadget. And I will not and cannot do that as I can’t afford this phone. Maybe some guy will allow me to use this phone and then i can review. But till then let’s get some cool features and technology behind this phone. Also the reason for this post is due to it’s launch in India. It is now provided by Airtel and Vodafone at a price which will make a deep hole in your pockets.

Apple is a brand known for user interface and user friendliness. After watching many videos and reviews I think it’s true. The first thing in features is the memory. This phone has inbuilt flash memory, It comes in two variants 8GB and 16GB. This is one of the greatest achievement in phone arena. Till date phones were running on memory based on cards which is slow. Flash memory is inbuilt and is much faster than memory card. That will improve performance but if you loose phone it’ll be difficult to recover data unlike cards which can be removed and can be read in card reader.

One thing I was shocked was the camera. It’s just 2 megapixel. A phone with multimedia capabilities and so much memory should have at least 3.2 megapixel camera. There is no optical zoom or flash. You have the feature of photo geotagging. That means you can point the location where you took the photo. That is interesting. It is done with the help of GPS navigation. Another downside is that you cannot record videos or audio. Now I am handicapped.

The video features looks very promising. It support H.264 videos which are highly compressed videos with almost the same quality as that of DVD. Though it depends on the resolution you choose to encode the video. This also requires lots of processing power. Thanks to 620Mhz processor built in. I remember the days of PIII processor which had the same speeds. Now speed remains the same at much smaller power consumption. Video resolution supported is 640×480 which is standard DVD quality. I don’t want to talk much about audio as it’s almost same like other high end phones. The phone runs on iPhoneOS made for this phone.

The feature I most liked is the internet browsing. Powered by Apples own safari browser, it’s much better browsing than earlier days. If you rotate the phone by 90 degrees, the browser senses the rotation and it rotates itself. The touchscreen support is also eye candy. With great effects while navigating you just want this gadget.

This phone is also environment friendly. There is no PVC used in handset, headphones and USB cable. The packaging comes from recycled materials. Now with all the things mentioned above, do you plan to buy one? As a power user if I had money to buy this I still would have kept myself away from this.

Scientists are a step closer to being invisible. This will not only make humans invisible but any object. Scientists have engineered a new material which can control the direction of visible light. The logic is simple. Just bend the visible light away from the object and it becomes invisible. There is no injection or any kind of drug required. This can also hide large objects like ships and plane.

While looking at an object we see it because the visible light hits it and returns back to our eyes. As I said earlier it gets curved or bend with the help of this meta-material. An observer looking at object will then see the light behind the object. That will make the object invisible and his background visible. The material used is developed with the help of nanotechnology.

Being invisible will be a pleasure. I can go anywhere I want without any restrictions. I will hide myself from those who don’t like my face. They’ll be happy. I think this will also help me to sneak pass any dog. The bad thing is my clothes will be useless. As nobody will be able to see me. That will save some money on my wardrobe.

But if the power goes in wrong hands and used with wrong intention it can create another hell. I am sure the first use of this power will be for military purpose to sneak into countries. Also to create ships an planes invisible to radar. A good use may be to fight against crime. But who will do that??

This is a great boon to those who are blind. This breakthrough should help them to see this beautiful world again. The scientists have said that this could be well used for an artificial retina. I don’t have to tell you how important is this retina for our eyes. It is first time that the camera is demonstrated on curved surface to make it look like human eye. Picture tells us how successful the attempt is.

The surface may well look curved but is made up of very small squares. These tiny squares hold the photo detectors and electronic components. The squares are connected to each other with tiny wires which help the squares to mould into curve surface. It is difficult task to mount the circuit boards on curved surface as they come only in flat shape. The above solution helped to mount the components without breaking them.

Another good use of it may be in the robots. Current generation robots could be improved to a great extent with the use of this eye shaped camera. They will also resemble human beings more precisely. The syntax for using Rundll32.exe is as follows:

RUNDLL32.EXE <dllname>,<entrypoint> <optional arguments>

The DLL name should not contain any spaces, commas or quotation marks. If the DLL name does contain spaces, use the short (8.3) version of the file name. This is the name which you’ll see if you use that file in DOS environment. Note the comma between the DLL name and the entry point. Also, the name of the entry point function is case-sensitive and there should not be any spaces between the DLL name, the comma, and the entry point function name. Full path of DLL should be given unless it exists in system folders.
There are a number of commands employing Rundll32.exe that can be entered into Start -> Run, a command window, or used in scripts. A common use is to open various Control Panel applets. (Another method specific to Control Panel is discussed here.) For example, to open the Control Panel applet for configuring the display settings enter

rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,3

Different tabs for the Desktop applet can be opened by changing the number at the end that is part of the argument. All of the Control Panel applets and their tabs can be opened this way by using the relevant CPL file and the appropriate tab number as arguments. The operating system also uses this method to display Control Panel. In fact, Control Panel applications are the most commonly mentioned examples in discussions of using Rundll32.exe.

Open YAMB and click Editing. Then select “Click to split MP4/M4A/MOV/3GP Files”.

In the next screen browse to the file you want to split or make sample of. In this screen you’ll find “Enable preview”. But that function doesn’t work. select “Split from”. Here I want to split my video starting from minute 1 to minute 2. The input format is hh:mm:ss. so my input becomes 00:01 to 00:02. You can use seconds if you want it more precise.

Click next. if the duration is large then it’ll take sometime. Else it finishes within a flash. You’ll find the splitted file in the same folder where your original file is. In my case here the file is in “D:\My Documents”.

Note: Some bugs are still present in software. You may get some error when you exit the program. Just ignore that error. Other than this it’s a beautiful software.
