A Trip to Bangalore

By my previous post you know that I have plenty of free time. So I thought of using this time for good. Using this time to explore some places where I haven’t been and always wanted to go. I chose to visit Bangalore, The IT city. Since I am much interested in that field and also heard a lot about the beauty of Bangalore.

There are lots of places to visit in Bangalore. So I created a list of places of my interest and the places which I’ll be visitng this time.

Lalbagh Gardens : One of India’s most beautiful botanical gardens. It was laid out by Hyder Ali and Tippu Sultan in the 18th century.
Cubbon Park : This beautiful park, which spreads over 300 acres in the heart of the city, serves as the lung space of the evergrowing Banglore city. Designed by Lt. General Sir Mark Cubbon, in 1864, is dotted with beautiful statues, flowering trees, fountains and a library its midst.
Aquarium : A variety of exotic fishes are the attraction in this diamond shaped Aquarium, which is at the enterance of the Cubbon Park.
Dodda Basavanna Temple : The gigantic image of the celestial bull, Nandi, which stands at 4.57 meters. in height, is a classic example of Dravidian architecture.
Dodda Ganapathi Temple : Since I have a lot of faith in Lord Ganesha this is must for me. A huge monolithic statue of Gapnapati, which attracts thousands of devotees every day. One of the oldest temples of Bangalore.
Musical Fountain : Another attraction opposite the planetarium is the musical fountain and its dancing waters. The Bangalore Palace: Modeled after the Windsor Palace, this beautiful granite palace was built by the Wodeyars, the erstwhile rulers of Mysore.

Now that I made the plan, I thought of searching for Hotels in Bangalore. At this point I stumbled upon Accor Hotels City Super Sale. I am damn lucky that they have a sale going on. Human personality consists of two aspects – physical and moral and for keeping yourself in a good health condition and harmony it is quite necessary to take care of both – your body and your soul. There appear more and more interesting directions in keeping your body sound: basic medical examination, help of unusual medicine such as homeopaths or even something odd and mysterious like going to fortunetellers, who will try to see you through and decide if it is something wrong with you. Living room is most important part of any house. It reflects how you live and what you are. Just neat and tidy room is not sufficient. The interiors are important too. Furniture being the heart of interior. That is why I started looking for some good furniture for my living room. It’s not much tidy and it’s small too. Bored of Facebook? Nahh….

I recently joined Facebook. It is supposed to be one of the best and high rated social networking website but I didn’t join for no reason. I did this to help Facebook to regain it’s value which is dipping as per market analysis. After joining Facebook, I sent all of the friends on Facebook request for friendship. That script peeked into my Gmail contacts to find friends. I didn’t like that. Anyways, I joined and no friends so what to do??

While exploring the Facebook I found Facebook applications. I could install applications and use them. I could install games and play them. These are called social games. So I started searching for Facebook games as I was bored on Facebook. While searching I found this game called Metropolis. This game is strategy game and I love strategy games. So this gathered some interest.

The game is very simple. I am mayor of a city and I have to build the city from scratch. I cannot become a mayor in real but at least virtually. You get to buy empty plots for certain amount and then you develop those plots. You get revenue and you have to pay taxes. Taxes don’t leave your back in virtual world also. Good thing is that you decide and set the taxes. Don’t set them too low in order to keep citizens happy.

You can raise the cultures as you want. You get beautiful landmarks as rewards. You decide the type of city you’ll build. Whether it’ll be wealthy or rich in culture. You can play on your own or combine play with other Facebook users. Easy to use interface, Simple way to display stats will make you addicted to the game. If at all I become a mayor in future I will have thank to this game for teaching me how to become one.

UFO – Where to find them??

Science fiction writers so far have created numerous creatures and characters. Aliens are the prime subject when you say science fiction. So these characters are very interesting and almost everyone is attracted towards them. They are highly advanced creatures with state of art technology which is way ahead of ours. An these aliens travel within a spacecraft. I always wonder why they are mostly saucer shaped?

These spacecrafts often fly in our atmosphere. Aliens travel to Earth anonymously. These are the beliefs of many scientists and many of the fiction lovers. Everyday there is a news about UFO somewhere on this planet. UFO or the Unidentified Flying Objects. For the army of navy UFO may be an enemy plane. But for us it is a spacecraft.

It is interesting to read about such UFO’s. Is there any place where I can read about them? While searching I found this site which gathers feeds from all around the world about UFO. This site is UFO Seek. With a short synopsis and the link to the actual news this site provides plenty of UFO news. You can search through the old articles if you want. The front page displays only recent news related to UFO.

Tuesday Readings 07

I know you are bored of reading my blog. Probably you visit my blog on every Tuesday just to find something other than nonsense. Do you like my choice of readings??

This one I found through digging. I digg in my garden sometimes to get rid of weeds. But this digging is different and it leads to good reading stuff. 20 Things to do on Your Day Off is a post most of you will be looking for. It mentions just what it says. Many times you get out of ideas. You need someone to suggest. This one tells you what to do when you have off from your work. I liked the 5th tip.

From the above post I jumped to zen please. That is the thing most of you must have done or will be doing now. Wow!!! I found one more post to blog about. 5 Simple Ways to Getting Things Done opens your eyes. Some more tips for me to get my life organized. What stroked me was the picture which looks like Garfield and brightens the post.

Next is my Entrecard dropper. I found her bog in my top droppers list. I confess that I don’t read all the blog I drop. Forget all not even my top droppers. But the things will change now. I’ll read at least top 10 droppers. Blessed am I is a “what I have” list. Such lists are often the fruit of “bored of blogging”. I don’t know about this post. Of all, the last one holds good for me very well. I have my faith in God.

Kimmy is sharing light

I am totally lazy today. It hurts to wake up early on Sunday. I had to wake up early due to the nature’s call. Then it was time to watch some movies. I’ll write about that in tomorrow’s post. Today it’s the blog review time. This weeks featured blog is The Eagle,The Lion and The Dove by Kimmysharinglight. That is the name of blog. Pretty long but you’ll remember it.

I have to use the word “Just”. This is just another blog which I am lucky to get to read. The “Just” is because I am getting good blogs to read now a days. I really liked this blog and will continue reading. As I mentioned in my earlier reviews that the pictures used in post spice up the post. Here is another good example of that. Author has used a picture in almost every post and it suits it.

Things I liked is the blog archive is good. But as most of the bloggers do, it is somewhere in the middle of the page. That is totally waste. Another thing I liked is the style of writing. It’s the new trend of blogs where author’s writes just enough. Similar to my type of writings. Who has patience to read long post?? Many even try to skim the post I write. One more plus is the use of sezwho. You get to know what peoples like by the ratings they give.

The layout is pretty simple. It can be improved. What I really didn’t liked is the length of the page. I cannot imagine that a blog’s start page displays 25 posts. That is way too much. A good number is 5-8 posts. You can make it smaller by use of “more” tags. Look at the sidebar. It contains too much of things. There are some writings in sidebar. Hello.. Sidebar is not a place for the thoughts. It’s for your blog’s promotion and links. Then there are tags. I don’t know why bloggers display so much tags in the sidebar.

Lot’s of scope to improve. Even though there are many negatives, I’ll still visit the blog. It is something you shouldn’t miss.

Tuesday Readings 06

For the last whole week I was offline and busy in festival activities. So that is another Tuesday with almost no readings. I am just trying to read and complete the blog subscriptions. They are good and readable to keep me updated. But hardly there is something which is worth a mention. I was just about to close this post by writing above excuse till…..

I read this blog for every update. One of the best one’s in my subscription list. This post about What is Signposting is another best. It tells us some very simple ways of signposting which will make conversation easy to follow to the listener. There is not much effort involved and I’ll be practicing it straight away.

The second is a blog which I skip sometimes. Just because as it said in the post it writes much about food. How to write a popular blog post is a post where I thought I’ll get some tips from him. It turned out to be a different one but it’s enjoyable. Now I am looking forward whether the author sticks to his blog or uses “sex and money” to promote.

Just two posts for this week. I’ll try to fill this gap next Tuesday. I’ll make this post popular by tagging it with words “sex and money”

Womanist Musings

There are times when you get closer to the reality it hurts. Very few tend to write on the real things and express it in a way that will leave a place somewhere. I like to read such writings and believe me they are getting very rare. Most of the times writer tend to write on fantasies and own creations. That is because it sells faster. Believe me that a good writer will try to write something on reality. This blog is something about such thing.

Womanist Musings is one of the blogs which goes towards the reality and tries to bring out some issues which were never in focus. When I first hit this blog i thought it’ll be just another political blog expressing blah blah about democrats and republican parties. When I started reading carefully and peeking through archive gave me an idea of how good the blog is.

Everyday stories with a different perspective are common but these are not just everyday stories. As the name suggests most of the stories are related to woman. I am confused though that the blog name is due to the above reason or because they are being written by a woman. Almost every story will strike you. If you re a good reader then you’ll be back.

Author is a woman. Now this is my third consecutive blog which I featured in Sunday review and written by a woman. For a change, next week’s will be different for sure. One thing I noticed about the blog is it’s loading time. It loads slow. There are youtube videos added which makes loading slower. There is a good use of pictures and they blend with stories beautifully.
