Another Shit Story

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of this story
(1) Not everyone who shit’s on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you’re in deep shit, it’s best to keep your mouth shut!

Another bull shit story. It’s a female counterpart here. The fact still holds true. Success through bull shit will not last long.

Think Nonsense…

Technorati

I didn’t join this for some reason. But now I think that Technorati is important. So I went to the site for a sign up. All went well and now I’ve to claim the blog. Every service has different method for claiming the blog. And for this I’ve to write a post with a link to my profile . This is some what strange method. I didn’t like it this way. For most of other services I had to just paste a code somewhere in blog. That could be easily done.

I cannot create a post and delete it after writing. It’s something i don’t like to do. Duh…. So I had to write this post containing all the junk that you have read thousands of time all over. There is already so much junk in my blog and now this is another post. Technorati should change this method. How can a blog service ask a user to delete a post on his blog which doesn’t violate any rules?? It’s not blogging…

Just to help my blog with search engines and get some links in Technorati you are reading this. I’m really thankful that there are users for my blog who are interested even in reading the junkiest (Is that a word in English dictionary??) post of mine. So here goes the link I have to post Technorati Profile.

I don’t know whether I’ll use that or not but that’s my identity on Technorati. For social bookmarking purpose I use del.icio.us. That’s friendly with my browser..

Thanks for reading junk..

What is Pro-Blogger??

I actually don’t know since when this blogging thing started. I feel the question is correct. It’s not Who is Pro-Blogger?? After this entry may be I’ll find out more about that. Since the start, there has been an exponential growth of the blogs. Almost anyone can create a blog. And anyone who knows to operate Computer and use internet is creating a blog. That is the secret of growth of the Bloggers.

But not all bloggers are same. Some bloggers are new or called as n00bs. They have little knowledge of blogging and just copy paste things around them. They write something about themselves and leave the blog. Many time they don’t update. I wanted a blog on Blogger and WordPress but the name I wanted was already taken. And it was just created and left. That’s not a Blogger.

Now how you can become a Pro-Blogger?? Truly speaking I don’t know. Even I’m trying to find out this. The real definition of Pro-Blogger is not known to me. When I googled for the term I found the following definitions.

A Problogger or Professional Blogger is a person whose occupation is to write blogs for a living. He or she is considered an expert in his or her field and is an authority qualified to teach apprentices.

A Pro Blogger is one who gets paid for the Blog he writes or the posts he writes.

But then there are some Bloggers who are much successful in terms of hits to their sites. But still they don’t earn anything from their posts or blogs. Aren’t they Pro-Blogger?? Do they belong to Pro category??

The simple reason for the for writing this article is that I get to see many blogs or bloggers saying things. Like they want to be a Pro-Blogger. They are Pro-Blogger. May be the cash they earn is the only criteria for being a Pro-Blogger. Now I want to be a Pro-Blogger. It’s been six months I’ve been writing daily. I want that badge now ;-( . I feel related to the picture.

Entrecard – What is it??

I had registered to Entrecard some days back. But I never inserted the code. The reason was simple. I didn’t knew much about this thing. So I just registered and kept myself away from this. Just when I started finding this entrecard everywhere, I became curious about it.  Did some reading about entrecard and the credits thing. Thought it may just help to get some visitors. And there you see my entrecard.

It’s on temporary basis. Just as I tried trafficswarm and it failed for me. I’ll keep this for about a month and check how it works out. If I get some visitors it’ll stay here, else the dust bin is the place to be. I noticed a lag in loading the sidebar due to entrecard. I hate that. Thats why I keep minimum external links. Right now I’m also thinking of uploading all images to my site instead of using imageshack.

To make a room for entrecard, I removed the search bar. I noticed that hardly anyone uses the search. A bit of organized categories, archives and calender kept searching away. I’ll still keep a link in the meta later on. If at all you need to search then that will help. Also I added the “Add This” button. Now its easy to bookmark the blog. I may remove it and use the buttons for some commonly use social bookmarking sites.

Also this socialspark is making me crazy. I’ve registered to it and claimed my blog. Still not verified. I’ve kept the link in body tag for the statistics and a higher izea rank. That is the prime reason for slowing down the loading time of the blog. I want to remove it but a higher rank can help to get some hits. If I get bad feedback about this then I’ll remove that. After all this blog is for your reading.

Trafficswarm – a failure

I heard a lot about this site. So I registered and thought of giving it a try. Basically it is another site which helps you to build traffic for your blog or website. You need to surf for whatever time you want. Earn credits for what you have surfed. Usually you get to click some links and every click gives different amount of credits.

It varies from 1 to 1000 they say. So far the highest I got was 5 credits. The concept is very simple. The credits you earn are redeemed towards ads for your site. For every display of ad 1 credit gets deducted. There are types of ads you can configure. Some type of ads are bigger and get you noticed but cost more credits.

The thing I didn’t like was the credit deduction. It gets deducted for display. So you are never sure of a click. And that means you are not sure of traffic. That’s a big minus. I sign and do task in order to get sure shot traffic. Like Linkreferral, I do task I get traffic. I don’t do I don’t get. So far I hardly got any hits from trafficswarm. I was expecting it to be as good as Linkreferral. But it’s nowhere near to it. Continue reading →
